Registration
Press Register at the top of any page and fill in your email address, a password, your full legal name, date of birth, home address and phone number. Use the same details your bank has — they are checked during identity verification, and a mismatch is the most common reason a check gets stuck.
Once the form is submitted your account exists straight away; real-money play opens after verification and a location check.
You must be 18 or older to open an account and play on PowerPlay. The age question on your first visit is only a first step — your date of birth is verified against official records before any real-money play, and accounts opened by anyone under 18 are closed.
Adults aged 18+ who will play while physically located in Alberta and who are not self-excluded or otherwise barred from gambling. You must play with your own money, on your own behalf. People with inside knowledge of an event — athletes, officials or team staff — may not bet on competitions they are involved in. The full list is in the Terms and Conditions.
No. Each person may hold one account, and that one account covers the Sportsbook, Live Betting, the Casino and Live Casino. Duplicate accounts are closed when we find them, and bonuses or bets placed through them may be voided. If you have lost access to your account, ask support to help you recover it rather than opening a new one.
On the login page, choose "Forgot password" and enter your account email. We send a reset link that works once and expires after a short time. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder, then contact support from the same address.
Alberta Eligibility
No. You must be physically located in Alberta to access real-money casino games and sports betting. If you travel outside the province you can still log in and manage your account, but betting and game launches stay locked until a location check confirms you are back in Alberta.
When you start a real-money session, your browser asks permission to share its location, and a geolocation service checks your device position using GPS, Wi-Fi and network signals. An IP address on its own is never accepted as proof. The check may repeat during a session, and VPNs, proxies and location-masking tools cause it to fail. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
What matters is where you are when you play, not where you live. A visitor from Ontario who is in Calgary for the week and passes verification can play; an Albertan on holiday in Kelowna cannot until they return. Your home address is still verified as part of KYC.
Verification
Canadian law requires gaming operators to know who their customers are. Verification (KYC) confirms that you are an adult, that you are who you say you are, and that the money in your wallet is yours — which protects you from fraud as much as it protects us. It is also why withdrawals can only go to an account in your own name.
Usually none are needed: we first try to verify the details you registered with electronically. If that does not work, we ask for a clear photo of a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport, and sometimes a recent document showing your name and address, such as a utility bill or bank statement. You can cover unrelated numbers on a statement.
It depends on whether your details can be matched electronically or documents need to be reviewed. Your account always shows the current status, and if anything else is needed we tell you by email and in My Account. The fastest route is registering with exactly the name and address your bank uses.
Unverified means checks have not started or need information from you. Pending means we are reviewing what you sent. Verified appears only after a check has actually passed — never before. Real-money play and withdrawals need Verified status.
Sportsbook
Hockey leads the board — NHL, WHL and AHL — followed by football (NFL, CFL, NCAA), basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, MMA, boxing, esports, golf, Formula 1, cricket, rugby, darts and more. The full list with leagues and event counts is in the Sportsbook side panel.
PowerPlay shows odds in decimal format. Multiply your stake by the odds to get your total return, stake included: a C$10 bet at 2.50 returns C$25 if it wins, which is C$15 profit. Lower odds mean the bookmaker thinks an outcome is more likely; odds move as information and money come in.
Open a sport or event, tap the price of the outcome you want, and it is added to your Bet Slip. Enter a stake, check the potential return, and press Place bet. A bet counts only once it is accepted and appears in your bet history with a bet ID. You need to be logged in, verified and located in Alberta.
The Bet Slip is where your selections wait before you confirm them. On a computer it sits on the right of the Sportsbook; on a phone it opens from the green button at the bottom of the screen. It shows each selection, its odds, your stake and potential return, and lets you switch between singles and a parlay.
A parlay combines two or more selections from different events into one bet. The odds multiply together, so the potential return is higher — but every leg has to win for the parlay to pay. If one leg is void, it is removed and the parlay is recalculated on the rest.
Live Betting lists events that are in progress, with the current score, clock and status next to the markets. Odds update with play, and markets can close briefly after big moments such as a goal. Live bets are accepted after a short delay; if the price changes or something significant happens in that time, the bet may be declined or offered back at the new price.
Bets are settled automatically by the sportsbook system using official results from sports data providers — never by hand. Winnings go to your wallet and the result appears in your bet history. Markets that include overtime say so; "60-minute" or "regulation" markets use the score at the end of regulation only. See the Sportsbook Rules.
Markets already decided before the cancellation stand — for example "first team to score" after the first goal. All other bets on the event are void and the stakes are returned. For postponed events, bets stand if the game is played within the timeframe in the sport-specific rules; otherwise they are void.
In My Account under Bet History. Each bet shows its ID, the time it was placed, the selections and odds, the stake, the status (open, won, lost or void) and the settlement. Casino sessions and wallet transactions have their own history next to it.
Not at the moment. Once a bet is accepted it stays open until the event is settled. If Cash Out is added later, its rules will appear in the Sportsbook Rules before it goes live.
Casino
The Casino has slots (including jackpot slots), table games such as blackjack, roulette and baccarat, game shows, and live dealer tables. Every game comes from an established game studio, and you can filter the lobby by category or studio, or search by name.
Each spin's result is set by the game's random number generator, which is tested and certified, so every spin is independent of the one before — there is no such thing as a machine being "due". The paytable inside each game shows the symbols, features and return-to-player figure. Over time every slot returns less than it takes in.
Live dealer games are real tables — blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows — run by professional dealers and streamed from a studio in real time. You place your bets on screen and the outcome comes from the actual cards or wheel. Table rules and limits are shown at each table before you join.
Yes. PowerPlay works in the browser on phones and tablets, with no app to install. The bottom bar gives you Home, Sports, Live, Casino and Account, and games open full screen. Location checks work on mobile too — allow location access for the site when your browser asks.
No. There is no free-play mode on PowerPlay: games open only for verified players located in Alberta, and every round uses real money from your wallet. Before you play, each game card shows its studio and type, and the rules and paytable are available inside the game.
In the Casino, use the provider filter to show only one studio, or combine it with a category such as slots or table games. You can also type a game or studio name into the search bar at the top of the page.
Banking
Interac. It is the bank transfer network most Canadian chequing accounts already support, and the account you pay from must be in your own name. We only list payment methods that are actually connected to the platform, so if a method is not shown in your Wallet, it is not available.
In My Account, open the Wallet and choose Deposit. Enter the amount in CAD and approve the payment in your Interac flow with your bank. The funds appear in your PowerPlay balance, which the Sportsbook and the Casino both use. Limits and processing times are shown in your Wallet before you confirm.
Choose Withdrawal in the Wallet, enter the amount and confirm. Money is sent through Interac to a verified account in your own name, which is why identity verification has to be complete first. The request appears in your transaction history straight away with a status you can follow.
Any fee that applies is shown in your Wallet before you confirm a deposit or withdrawal — nothing is added afterwards. Your own bank may have its own pricing for Interac transfers, so check your account plan if you are unsure.
Limits and processing times are shown in your Wallet before you confirm. A withdrawal can take longer if identity verification is incomplete or if a security check is needed, and in that case we tell you. You can always see the current status in your transaction history.
Promotions
When we run a promotion, it is listed on the Promotions page with its product, eligibility, terms and expiry date. Promotions are for verified players located in Alberta, and they are never offered to anyone who is self-excluded or on a time-out.
Every promotion has its own terms, shown before you opt in: who is eligible, what you have to do, any wagering requirement and which games or markets count towards it, and when it expires. Bonus funds cannot be withdrawn until those conditions are met. The general rules are in the Terms and Conditions.
Responsible Gambling
In My Account → Responsible Gambling you can set deposit, loss and session limits for a day, a week or a month, plus a reality check reminder. Lowering a limit works immediately; raising one only takes effect after a cooling-off period, and your current limit stays in force until then.
Use a time-out in My Account. You choose how long it lasts, and during that time you cannot bet, play or deposit. A time-out cannot be cancelled early. If you need longer, self-exclusion is the next step.
Choose Self-Exclusion in My Account or ask support to set it up. Your account is closed to all gambling for the whole period, marketing stops, and the exclusion cannot be shortened. Free, confidential help is also available from Alberta support services, including 211 and the Addiction Helpline.
Yes. PowerPlay has one account and one wallet for both products, so a deposit, loss or session limit — and any time-out or self-exclusion — covers the Sportsbook, Live Betting, the Casino and Live Casino together. There is no way to keep playing one while the other is blocked.
Support
Use the contact form — pick a category and you get a ticket number straight away — or email support@owerplay.slonik.store. Replies come by email. For gambling-related worries outside office hours, Alberta 211 and the Addiction Helpline (1-866-332-2322) are open 24/7.
Your account email, the date and time of the issue, and the bet ID, game name or transaction ID if there is one. A short description of what you expected to happen helps too. Never include your password or full banking details — we will never ask for them.
Try a shorter word — "withdraw" instead of "withdrawal pending" — or ask us directly.
